Colette Sadler & Mikko Gaestel

Sadler's and Gaestel's collaborative work since 2018 focuses on thematics connected to the uncanny, speculative futures and the interface between materiality and virtuality. They create interdisciplinary work that moves between performance, moving image and sculpture.

Colette Sadler (*1974, Glasgow) is a performer, choreographer and curator living in Berlin. Graduating from the Laban Centre London, she worked internationally as a dancer and performer. Sadler's choreographic works has been shown Internationally in numerous dance and visual art contexts, including at Kaai Theatre Brussels, South Bank Centre London, Nottingham Contemporary, Les Lattitudes Contemporains France, OGR Turin and TRAMWAY. In 2019 she curated the multidisciplinary art symposium "Present Futures" in collaboration with Centre of Contemporary Art Glasgow and in 2021 she will curate an online edition. In 2020 she was an artist in residence at Muzeum Susch, Switzerland. She is currently working on a robotics and movement research project with Kings College London.

Mikko Gaestel (*1982, Hamburg) is a filmmaker, photographer and video artist living in Berlin. He studied Art and Media at University of the Arts Berlin, finishing with a Meisterschüler degree, and Fine Arts at Iceland Academy of the Arts Reykjavik. He has been working for numerous international theatre projects, including Elmgreen & Dragset, Rimini Protokoll and Lola Arias. 2013 he was awarded the Elsa-Neumann-Scholarship of the state of Berlin. His own works have been exhibited at institutions including Goethe Institute New York, Bremerhaven Art Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art Helsinki, Future Gallery Berlin and Dumbo Arts Center New York. His documentary feature debut The Great Fortune won the Grand Prize at Belgrade international Film Festival 2016.
