HYDRO Exercise 0.1, 2020

30 seconds video | sound

HYDRO following on from BODY A (Sadler & Gaestel 2018) presents the female body as a hollowed out container without organs. The body as a shell. Exercise 0.1 connects the movement practices of Japanese Butoh dance to the image of a permeable anatomy as a means to reflect on human / non human interconnectedness through the imaginaries and flows of being a body of water. A stable liquid manifestation of a cybernetic organism (as in Donna Harraway's cyborg), a hybrid creature providing a fictional character with a social existence.

HYDRO Exercise 0.1 is part of in-app exhibition FitArt – Female Body.
