Maëlle Gross

Maëlle Gross (*1988, lives and works in Lausanne and Geneva) is a Swiss multidisciplinary artist whose work ranges from video, installation to performance. Gross holds a Bachelor's degree in visual arts from University of Art and Design of Geneva (HEAD) and a Master in Fine Arts from Goldsmiths University in London (2016). Gross strives to blur boundaries and mix facts with fiction through a plurality of mediums. Documentary narratives, fictional stories or testimonials belong to her many ways of thinking about our relationship to the world. Within these universes, Gross connects or confronts personal narratives with more global issues such as identity or gender issues.

Recent exhibition venues include: Kunsthaus Langenthal, Langenthal (2020); Swiss Arts Awards, Basel (2019); Flux Laboratory, Zurich (2017); Antigel, Geneva (2018); Centre d’Art Contemporain, Geneva (2017); Documenta 14, Athens (2017); Rencontres internationales, Paris (2016); ICA, London (2015) amongst others. Gross has participated in the Swiss Art Awards 2019 and the Prix Mobilière 2020.
